Climate change is perhaps one of those topics that are always talked about. The UK was one of the first to come forward with a legal commitment to limit greenhouse gas emission. While things were playing slowly earlier on, however, since 2019, there is more focus on cutting down these gases and ensuring a greener economy.

What Does The Strategy Entail?

When it comes to the strategy put forward by the Ministry, it first showcases the range of risks that prevail with reference to climate change. Some of the more shocking changes include water shortages, overheated buildings, increased likelihood of floods, extreme weathers, health risks, and much more. To combat these measures, the strategy imposed is to take the appropriate steps at every stage.

The Climate Change Act 2008 is to be followed with a more streamlined and focused vision on ensuring the policies are followed. There is more focus on businesses making sure that their procedures are environmentally-friendly or not. More than that, all public bodies are required to fully understand the responsibility of this and move forward using the best practices.

Measures Taken Till Now

There are a series of measurements taken by the UK government to work on the climate change strategy. There are a few measures that have been easier to implement than others.

  • Improvement Of Commercial Buildings

There is a refocus on how commercial buildings are built. There is more emphasis on introducing more eco-friendly mechanisms in to play. This has more to do because commercial buildings may use up a lot of energy, and waste it of not developed properly. There is a need to be energy efficient. Nothing works better than improving the designs of commercial buildings and focusing on following the energy consumption levels set in by the EPC.

  • In-House Energy Rating For Businesses

As a business, it is important to make sure that there is data about everything present. This also means the in-house energy that is consumed in production. With a way to measure progress, businesses will understand where they use excessive amounts of energy, and how to maintain it better for the sake of the world. It is essential to take note of this to work on energy efficiency better.

  • Easier Planning Permits For Energy Storage Facilities

There are consultations underway to allow a more straightforward process for energy storage facilities to get planning permits. These businesses are only looking for ways to be more energy-efficient, so is it essential to enable a more straightforward process for them to set up their premises.

  • Energy Data Taskforce Endorsement

There is a focus on sharing data when it comes to supporting decarbonisation. With more information available through different platforms, it will be easier to use the data available to reduce the bills of customers. Energy Data Taskforce recommended this solution, and it has proven to be a beneficial one.

All in all, active efforts are being put to ensure that there is better focus on reducing greenhouse emissions while also making sure that climate change is dealt in the best way.
